Complete guide to Copyspot Benfica
Sending a file correctly for printing is fundamental to guaranteeing graphic quality, color fidelity, and meeting deadlines. At Copyspot Benfica, we receive files daily for quick printing, large formats, flyers, business cards, booklets, and much more — and many problems can be avoided with proper file preparation.
This guide was created to help you submit the right file the first time, avoiding delays, extra costs, and unwanted results.

What file format should I send to the printing company?
✅ Printable PDF (recommended)
PDF for printing is the safest and most reliable format because:
It maintains the layout exactly as it was created.
Avoids replacing sources.
Preserves images, colors, and dimensions.
It is compatible with professional printing systems.
👉 Whenever possible, send the file as a PDF for printing (PDF/X).
Other accepted formats
TIFF – high-quality images
EPS – Vector logos and illustrations
❌ Formats to avoid
Word, PowerPoint, or editable files
JPG or PNG files downloaded from the internet
Screenshots
If you created the design in Canva, always export it as a PDF for printing, never as a standard PDF.
Image resolution: how to guarantee professional quality
Resolution directly influences print sharpness.
Recommended resolution for graphic printing.
300 DPI at final print size
Below that, the image may become blurry or "pixelated".
Common mistakes
Images from the internet have low resolution.
Increasing the DPI in the program does not improve quality.
Enlarging small images causes loss of detail.
👉 Simple rule: 300 DPI at actual size = good print quality.
Safety margins: avoid cropped text and logos.
During the cutting process, slight variations may occur. Safety margins prevent important information from being cut off.
Good practices
Do not place text or logos glued to the edges.
Keep important contacts and items away from the boundary.
Recommended measures
Minimum: 3 mm
Ideal: 5 mm or more
Essential in:
Business cards
Flyers
Booklets and brochures
Colors for printing: CMYK vs RGB
RGB
Used in screens (mobile phone, computer)
More vibrant colors, but not true to life on paper.
CMYK
Graphic printing standard
Ensures greater color fidelity.
👉 Always convert the file to CMYK before sending it to the printer.
Bleed: essential for color backgrounds
Bleeding prevents white lines after cutting.
Default value
3 mm bleed on each side
Use bloodletting when:
The background has color.
The image goes all the way to the edge.
There are no white borders in the design.
Fonts and texts: avoid printing errors
To ensure the text comes out exactly as it was created:
Convert fonts to curves/outlines
Or embed the sources in the PDF.
Avoid:
Very thin fonts
Texts too short
Correct black for printing
Text: 100% Black (K100)
Intense black backgrounds: Rich black
Never use black in RGB — it can come out grayish.
